FCT18-P Asymmetrical On-Delay Time Relay

Advanced Dual-Stage Timing Control with Retrigger Functionality

Model: FCT18-P Series | DIN Rail Mount

Product Overview

The FCT18-P is an advanced asymmetrical power on-delay relay featuring dual-stage timing (T1 and T2) with retrigger/restart control signal functionality. Engineered for complex industrial automation systems, it provides precise two-stage timing control with exceptional accuracy (±0.1%) and robust construction. With its compact 18mm DIN rail design and universal voltage input (12-240V AC/DC), the FCT18-P delivers reliable performance in demanding industrial environments requiring sophisticated timing sequences.

Key Technical Advantages

Universal Voltage Input

Operates with 12-240V AC/DC, compatible with global industrial power standards.

Dual-Stage Timing

Precise control with independent T1 (delay) and T2 (hold) timing parameters.

Ultra-Compact Design

Space-saving 18mm width (90×18×64mm) for high-density control panels.

Exceptional Accuracy

Repeat accuracy ∆< ±0.5% and Time setting accuracy ∆< ±0.1%.

Industrial Robustness

Designed for -20°C to +60°C environments with EMI resistance.

Retrigger Functionality

Control signal retrigger capability for flexible operation.

High-Capacity Output

16A C/O contacts (1 or 2 sets) for industrial loads.

Button Setting & Locking

Precision time setting via tactile buttons with locking protection to prevent accidental changes.

Industrial Application Scenarios

The FCT18-P asymmetrical on-delay relay excels in scenarios requiring precise two-stage timing sequences. Below are key industrial applications where its unique functionality delivers superior performance:

Motor Soft Start Systems

Delays motor start (T1) after power-up to prevent inrush current, then runs for a fixed time (T2) before automatic shutdown.

Key Benefits:

  • Prevents motor damage from startup surges
  • Automatic shutdown after T2 period
  • Retrigger capability for intermittent operation

Staged Lighting Systems

Delays primary lighting activation (T1) after power-on, with secondary lighting activating for T2 duration.

Key Benefits:

  • Energy-efficient staged illumination
  • Prevents simultaneous power surges
  • Adapts to different lighting requirements

Safety Sequence Control

Activates safety interlocks after T1 delay, maintaining them for critical T2 period during machine operation.

Key Benefits:

  • Ensures proper safety sequence activation
  • Maintains safety during critical operations
  • Retrigger for continuous safety monitoring

Chemical Dosing Systems

Delays chemical injection (T1) after process start, maintaining flow for precise T2 duration.

Key Benefits:

  • Precise chemical dosing timing
  • Prevents premature chemical introduction
  • Ensures accurate dosing duration

Access Control Systems

Delays door unlocking (T1) after authentication, maintaining unlock state for T2 duration.

Key Benefits:

  • Enhanced security with staged access
  • Controlled access duration
  • Retrigger for extended access periods

Robotic Sequence Control

Delays secondary robotic functions (T1) after primary activation, maintaining for precise T2 duration.

Key Benefits:

  • Precise coordination of robotic movements
  • Prevents mechanical stress from simultaneous activation
  • Maintains operation for required duration

Timing Sequence

FCT18-P-function-diagram

Timing Operation:

At power-on, after T1 delay, contact R closes for T2 duration.

When control signal S is applied and disappears, T1 timing starts.

When T1 timing completes, contact R closes for T2 duration.

1
Power On: T1 timing begins immediately
2
T1 Complete: Contact R closes for T2 duration

Connection Guide:

Standard DIN rail mounting with screw terminals for secure industrial connections:

  • A1/A2: Power supply terminals
  • S: Control signal input
  • 11/12/14 & 21/22/24: Output contacts (C/O)
  • T1/T2: Timing parameter adjustment

Note: Always disconnect power before making connections and ensure proper voltage ratings are observed.

Parameter Setting

Time Adjustment Protocol:

1
To set new parameters, press and hold the button until the LED starts flashing.
2
Adjust T1 and T2 parameters to desired values via the setting buttons.
3
Press and hold the button until the LED stops flashing to save settings.
4
For the newly set parameters to take effect, power cycle the device.
5
Use the lock function to prevent accidental parameter changes.
