FCC18-01
Single-Phase Over-Current Protection Relay with Adjustable Reset Mode
Precision Over-Current Protection in 18mm
The FCC18-01 is a single-phase over-current protection relay designed to protect equipment from damaging over-current conditions. After power-on, the relay begins monitoring current after the configurable startup delay (Tr). If current exceeds the set threshold (I>), the relay trips after the time delay (Tt).
The FCC18-01 offers both manual and automatic reset modes — choose manual reset for applications requiring operator acknowledgment, or automatic reset for unattended systems where the load should restart once current returns to safe levels.
Quick Specifications
Why Choose the FCC18-01?
Engineered for industrial reliability and precise single-phase current monitoring.
Over-Current Protection
Monitors single-phase current and trips when current exceeds the adjustable threshold, protecting equipment from overload damage.
Manual / Auto Reset
Selectable reset modes: manual reset requires power cycle; auto reset activates when current drops below 95% of set value.
16A SPDT Output Relay
High-capacity SPDT output handles direct load switching. Mechanical life 10 million cycles, electrical life 100,000 cycles.
Tool-Free Configuration
Four front-panel button (I>, Tr, Tt, Mode) allow fast, screwdriver-free setup. No programming or software tools required.
AC & DC Compatible
Available in both AC and DC current monitoring models, covering 0.05A to 16A for versatile applications.
Over-Current Functions
Understanding manual and automatic reset modes for your application.
The FCC18-01 monitors single-phase current and provides over-current protection with configurable time delays. After power-on, the relay waits for the startup delay (Tr) before beginning current monitoring. If the measured current exceeds the set threshold (I>), the relay trips after the trip delay (Tt).
Choose the reset mode that matches your application requirements: Manual Reset requires a power cycle to restore operation (recommended for equipment requiring inspection after overload), while Automatic Reset restores power when current drops below 95% of the set threshold.
Manual Reset Mode
In manual reset mode, when current exceeds the set threshold (I>) for longer than the trip delay (Tt), the relay trips and opens the output contact. The relay remains tripped until power is cycled — this ensures that an operator must acknowledge the fault and inspect the system before restoring power.
- Trip: When I > I> for Tt duration
- Reset: Power cycle required (turn off, then on)
- Ideal for: Equipment requiring inspection after overload
Automatic Reset Mode
In automatic reset mode, when current exceeds the set threshold (I>) for longer than the trip delay (Tt), the relay trips. The relay automatically resets when the current drops below 95% of the set threshold (I < 95% × I>). This allows the load to automatically restart when the fault condition clears.
- Trip: When I > I> for Tt duration
- Reset: Automatic when I < 95% × I>
- Ideal for: Unattended systems, remote locations

Frequently Asked Questions
Common questions about the FCC18-01 single-phase over-current protection relay
Manual Reset: When the relay trips due to over-current, it remains in the tripped state until power is cycled (turned off and on again). This is recommended for equipment that requires operator inspection after an overload event. Automatic Reset: When current drops below 95% of the set threshold (I < 95% × I>), the relay automatically resets and restores power to the load. This is ideal for unattended systems.
The FCC18-01 series offers 12 models: AC models (A0.5: 0.05-0.5A, A1: 0.1-1A, A2: 0.2-2A, A5: 0.5-5A, A8: 0.8-8A, A16: 1.6-16A) and DC models (D0.5: 0.05-0.5A, D1: 0.1-1A, D2: 0.2-2A, D5: 0.5-5A, D8: 0.8-8A, D16: 1.6-16A).
Tr (Startup Delay): After power-on, the relay waits for Tr seconds before beginning current monitoring. This prevents nuisance trips during motor startup when high inrush current is normal. Tt (Trip Delay): Once current exceeds the set threshold (I>), the relay must remain in this condition for Tt seconds before tripping. This filters out brief current spikes that don't represent a true overload condition.
Yes. The FCC18-01 is available in both AC and DC versions. AC models (A-series) monitor alternating current systems, while DC models (D-series) monitor direct current systems such as batteries, solar installations, and DC power supplies. All models can be powered by AC/DC 12-240V supply.
The FCC18-01 has a single SPDT (single-pole double-throw) relay contact rated 16A/250V AC. Terminal 11 is the common, 12 is normally closed (NC), and 14 is normally open (NO). Wire your load between terminal 11 and terminal 14 for normally open operation — the circuit is energized when the relay is in the normal (non-tripped) state.
In automatic reset mode, the relay resets when the monitored current drops below 95% of the set over-current threshold (I>). For example, if I> is set to 10A, the relay will automatically reset when current falls below 9.5A (10A × 95%). This prevents rapid on/off cycling when current hovers near the threshold.
The FCC18-01 is certified to CE, RoHS, and meets the standards of IEC 60947-5-1, GB/T 14048.5, and EN 61812-1. This makes it suitable for industrial automation applications in Europe, Asia, and other global markets.
