Pure Phase Sequence & Phase Failure Protection — The Most Cost-Effective Entry Model

The FCP18-01 is the entry-level dedicated phase sequence and phase failure monitoring relay in the FCP18 family. Designed to detect reversed phase wiring and single/multi-phase loss in three-phase installations — the two most common and dangerous phase faults that can damage equipment and endanger personnel.

With no OV/UV or asymmetry functions to configure, the FCP18-01 offers the simplest installation and lowest cost in the FCP18 range. The relay connects directly to L1, L2, L3 (and N for 4-wire models), monitors continuously, and trips immediately when a phase fault is detected.

Key Advantage: The FCP18-01 is the most cost-effective dedicated phase protection relay in the FIICCO range. No voltage settings, no asymmetry dials — just reliable, immediate detection of phase sequence reversal and phase loss. Ideal for budget-conscious applications where phase protection is all that is required.

Why Choose the FCP18-01?

The simplest, most cost-effective dedicated phase sequence and phase loss relay in the FCP18 family.

Phase Seq. + Loss Detection

Dedicated phase sequence and phase failure monitoring in a single module — detects reversed wiring and any-phase loss immediately.

Immediate Trip

Phase sequence reversal and phase loss faults trip the relay immediately — no delay required for these instantaneous fault conditions.

16A SPDT Output Relay

High-capacity SPDT output handles direct motor and contactor switching. Mechanical life 10 million cycles, electrical life 100,000 cycles.

Zero Configuration

No voltage dial, no OV/UV setting, no asymmetry dial — simply connect L1, L2, L3 (and N) and the relay protects immediately.

Ultra-Compact 18mm Width

Takes minimal DIN rail space in the panel. Compact 90 × 18 × 64mm form factor fits any distribution board.

Protection Function

Dedicated phase sequence and phase failure monitoring — the simplest, most reliable phase protection available.

The FCP18-01 monitors the L1, L2, L3 phase rotational sequence continuously. If the phase sequence is reversed (L1 → L3 → L2) or any phase is interrupted (open circuit, blown fuse, cable break), the relay immediately trips to protect connected equipment. There are no OV/UV or asymmetry functions — this is pure, focused phase protection.

The relay is ideal for protecting three-phase motors, compressors, and any equipment where reversed phase wiring or phase loss can cause damage, malfunction, or safety hazards. Phase faults are among the most common electrical faults in industrial installations.

Phase Sequence & Phase Loss Protection

The FCP18-01 continuously monitors the rotational sequence of the three-phase supply (L1 → L2 → L3). If the phase sequence is reversed or any phase is interrupted (open circuit, blown fuse, or cable fault), the relay immediately detects the fault and trips. The red P LED on the front panel provides instant visual status: lit = correct sequence, flashing = fault detected.

  • P LED lit (steady): All three phases present and in correct rotation sequence
  • P LED flashing: Phase loss or phase sequence reversed
  • Trip behavior: Immediate — no time delay for phase loss or sequence faults
  • Protection scope: Single-phase loss, two-phase loss, and reversed phase wiring errors

Frequently Asked Questions

Common questions about the FCP18-01 phase sequence and phase failure relay

The FCP18-01 is the simplest, entry-level model in the FCP18 family — it monitors only phase sequence and phase loss. It does not include over-voltage, under-voltage, or voltage asymmetry monitoring. All other FCP18 models add additional protection functions. Choose FCP18-01 when phase protection is all you need and budget is a priority.

Four voltage configurations are available: FCP18-01A (173-275V L-L, 3-wire), FCP18-01B (100-160V L-N, 4-wire), FCP18-01C (310-480V L-L, 3-wire), and FCP18-01D (180-278V L-N, 4-wire). Other voltages are available on request.

No. The FCP18-01 monitors only phase sequence and phase loss. For over-voltage and under-voltage protection, consider FCP18-02 (OV/UV + phase), FCP18-03 (OV/UV + asymmetry + phase), FCP18-04 (OV/UV + adjustable asymmetry + phase), or FCP18-06 (OV/UV + asymmetry + phase, all fixed thresholds).

No. The FCP18-01 is specifically designed for three-phase systems and requires three-phase input (L1, L2, L3) to operate. For single-phase voltage monitoring, consider a single-phase voltage monitoring relay from FIICCO's product range.

The FCP18-01 has a single SPDT (single-pole double-throw) relay contact rated 16A/250V AC. Terminal 11 is the common, 12 is normally closed (NC), and 14 is normally open (NO). Wire your load between terminal 11 and terminal 14 for normally open operation — the circuit is energized when the relay trips.

The FCP18-01 is certified to CE, RoHS, and meets the standards of IEC 60947-5-1, GB/T 14048.5, and EN 61812-1. This makes it suitable for industrial automation applications in Europe, Asia, and other global markets.
